Marie Curie Cancer Care Fundraiser Charity Event
On September 26th 2009, we hosted events and attractions to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. With help from Nestle and Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team, we saw a huge number of people flock to the circuit to enjoy some great karting action on track, and some off track attractions.
Those from Nestle enjoyed a Mega Prix as well as a 3.5 hour team endurance, with prizes for the top drivers and teams, including Lewis Hamilton signed caps, and signed posters.
The spectators and those involved with Arrive & Drive Karting still had a chance to prove themselves on the F1 simulator. Lap times varied throughout the day but one lucky driver, Paul Powell from Tamworth, walked away with a signed Hamilton baseball cap. Paul said he was delighted to have won the cap and that he and his son, Phil, had "a brilliant time" and are "looking forward to another event next year".
We helped raised over £2000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care, and we look forward to seeing all involved back at our circuit in the future.
Vodafone McLaren Mercedes
To help raise funds, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team were also represented at the track with some off track entertainment for spectators and visitors. This included the F1 simulator and the F1 show car which was on display all day.
